  1. What are the character types portrayed in the show?
  2. How do the actors portray those character types?
  3. What have you learned about roleplaying and characterization?

  1. I'm so glad you brought up the example of the voice actor who plays the dragon (Orion Acaba). What does this actor do that gives you the impression he is "very old and wise?" Also, how does it tie into his backstory?

  2. Good points, Carmen! You mentioned that the voice actor's character reminded you of Sir Ian McKellen, whose deep, melodic voice instantly conjures images of books, tea, and warm fires. I think this actor does a good job of creating a very "real" wise man ("Sir Dragon").

  3. After watching Critical Role, what is the role or responsibility of the DM ("Dungeon Master")? How does he create a story for the other actors to follow?

    1. DMs have a very hard job and good ones really highlight the complex nature of storytelling. However, all DMs have some outline of what's going to happen, but they create a lot of the dialogue and consequences of characters' actions as they go.
