Writing Activity:
1) Pick your favorite YouTuber, send Dr. B the video, and she will create a writing prompt based on that video. Note: make sure YouTubers are *appropriate* for school! A lot of them use language or discuss topics that may not be school appropriate.
2) Essential questions: How does this YouTuber bring in and attract audience members? Who is their audience? What is their content about? Why do you watch their videos?
She attracts audience members by having good content for people to watch and having good video ideas. Her audience members are probably teenage girls, like me. Her content is about lots of different things like story times, videos with other youtubers and other things. I water her videos because I think they are entertaining to watch and she does lots of cool and different things.

I don't watch her videos because i didn't know she had a youtube video. But now that i know she has one i'll probably watch her videos.

DeleteI said, that the 13-20-year-olds are mostly female viewers. Some males probably watch TheGabbieShow, but there is more females that watch her.
DeleteAlso another audience member is Steven Joseph, why I say that is because Steven is a male to female so she probably watches TheGabbieShow for makeup videos to do the same thing.
DeleteThe audience can also be not only just males and just females. It can also be trans females, trans males too and genderless people too. The only reason why I am saying this is because they have an interest in this content too but no one really thinks of it.

The youtuber uses trendy things in her videos to attract viewers, like her make up tutorials, challenges and such. Her viewers are usually older like 13-30 mostly because that is the age range that uses make up and enjoys challenge videos. I'm sure some of her views are younger or much older but 13-30 is most likely, seeing how they are the age range that does make up. I personally watch TheGabbieShow because I liked her vines and I thought she was really cool and funny as a person.

The youtuber attracts a audience by the title and thumbnail. There audience is people who are interested in makeup. Her content would be tutorials based on what I've seen. I don't watch her videos but others watch her because they either like her or want to learn something from her video.
ReplyDeleteThe youtube attracts her audience by doing something that connects to a large number of people, everyone wears makeup and there are a lot of people who want to know how to do it right so she shows them. Her audience is basically girls from 13-60 who want to know how to do makeup better.

DeleteWow! What an amazing article! I had no idea that "ambergris" was in "fancy perfume." It is weird that we use such strange ingredients in such quotidian (fancy word for "every day") things like makeup.

ReplyDeleteGabby attracts young teen girls by the title of the video, and by saying that it is a "natural" makeup look. A lot of girls wear makeup but don't want it to be too much, so the natural look is what they are striving to find. Gabby is also a well known youtuber, so girls around the ages of 13-20ish will most likely be interested. Gabby's content in this video is to show young girls how to get the "natural look" in an easy way that doesn't look like too much makeup. I watch her videos because they are extremely funny, and she collabs with a lot of other youtubers that I watch including Shane Dawson, which makes her very credible. She also does a lot of storytimes, and other random videos she thinks people will enjoy and think are funny.
I agree with what you said about how girls wear makeup but they don't want it to be too much. I like how you tied in the other videos she does.
DeleteThe youtuber attracts her audience by the title and the thumbnail. The title attracts younger girls usually from ages 13-25. The content is makeup because she's doing a makeup tutorial. I don't watch her videos because I don't wear makeup on a regular basis but if I was to watch her videos I would most likely be watching them for makeup advice.

DeleteI agree with you that most of her attention is attracted by her title and thumbnails, usually the thumbnails are the easiest ways to gain many subscribers.
DeleteThis youtuber does tutorials on trendy subjects that usually attract girls from the ages of 13-25. The content is makeup because she is doing a makeup tutorial. I don't watch her videos, but if I did then it would probably be because I wear makeup.

Delete2) Essential questions: Gabbie brings in her audience by having a creative thumbnail for her video, such as "my natural look" as in she's being very sarcastic, and saying that makeup is a natural look. However, she's a very popular YouTuber, and already has lots of followers, most are probably very young and look up to her for this sort of information and tutorials.
ReplyDeleteGabbie is a very successful YouTuber who already gets lots of views and subscribers, each video she posts depending on how interesting the video is gets more and more attention/subscribers. Usually she has lots of collabs with other well-known YouTubers such as Tana Mongeau and Shane Dawson. This video is based on makeup/tutorials but most of her content is tutorials, collabs, stories times, vlogs etc. We watch her videos because they attract lots of attention and satisfaction.

DeleteThis youtuber attracts the audience by lying to them with a "natural make-up" tutorial, because the definition of natural is relaxed and unaffected and you cannot say her face is natural after putting all that makeup on. Her audience is girls from age 13 to almost 60. People watch these videos because they might believe her or enjoy it.
