11/12 Writing Warmup: Political Cartoons & Rhetoric

Bell Ringer Activity:
1) What is the ethos, logos, and pathos in this image?
2) Who is the audience?

10 comments:

  1. Ethos: Trump would definitely be a credible source because many look up to him as an authority.

Logos: The logic of this image would definitely be the fact that Trump sometimes just needs a wall of bricks in his mouth to stop his stupidity and the shenanigans that comes out of his mouth.

Pathos: The pathos for this image would definitely be humor and satire, as Trump believes that building a wall would be the best option while this image clearly proves that building a wall in Trumps mouth would be the best option overall.

  5. Ethos: Donald Trump is a credible source, and pictures and information like this that Trump stated, are all over the internet.

Logos: Trump wants to build a wall between the Mexicans and the U.S. The people who made this photo wanted to represent a wall of bricks inside of his mouth to quiet all of the horrible and inconsiderate things that he says because he doesn't stop talking. The words that Trump is trying to get out of his mouth aren't coming out clearly because there is a wall inside of his mouth, so he can't speak his mind like he usually does.

Pathos: The pathos of this photo is humor because Trump thinks that he is going to build a wall between the Mexicans and the U.S. The photo represents a wall in his mouth because people think he needs to not state his mind, which is funny, and he is not good at that.

Audience: The people who are against Trump, because it is funny looking.

  9. 1. The logic of the video is he wants to build a wall so his mouth is a wall. The emotion of the video is to make people feel happy or funny that he cannot speak anymore. Since it involves Donald Trump there is a lot of attention brought to it and the author is credible.
    2. The audience is people who don't like him
