  1. In the song above there are several lines that are the wolf telling red riding hood that he will accompany her to grandmothers house so she will be safe. In The Charles Perrault version of red riding hood The wolf also wishes to go to grandmothers house. The wolf tells red riding hood to take the long path so she can enjoy the forest while the wolf takes the short route, and gets there first. These two examples seem similar to me because in both the wolf is acting like a friend to red riding hood with the real motive of wanting to eat her and her grandmother.

  2. The video for the song, "Little Red Riding Hood," compares to "James Thurber" on pages 16 and 17. Both the song and short story are based on Little Red Riding more than the Grandmother. Also, in each, Little Red Riding Hood meets up with the wolf in the forest. However, in the video, the wolf follows her to her house. In the short story, Little Red Riding Hood tells the wolf where she lives. Additionally, unlike the video, Little Red Riding Hood kills the wolf when she sees him at her Grandmother's house.

  3. The pictures and the song remind me about *The Story of Grandmother* (pg 10.) Like most of the Little Red Riding Hood stories, the wolf follows Little Red to her Grandmothers, then gets rid of her and takes her place. This is where the story and video connect. Instead of trying to eat up Little Red, the wolf instead tries to get her into bed with her. . Either way, it connects more so than the other stories in the fact that she does not get eaten, and does not kill the wolf, but instead is asked to come into bed. The only difference is, in the video, it's not actually a wolf in the end, but a dog or sheep that killed the wolf, put on his skin and tricked Red. But at the end it seems like they live happily ever after. Either way, The Story of Grandmother and the video "Little Red Riding Hood" are incredibly similar compared to the other stories.

  4. Little Red Riding Hood is usually thought of as a story of a girl visiting her grandma in the woods. There is a wolf who disguises himself as her grandmother to eat Little Red Riding Hood. In this video, the wolf doesn't want to eat her but really likes her body. The video mentions the wolf pretending to be a sheep to make Little Red Riding Hood trust him. At the end of the video, they are swinging on a hammock together, so I would assume the wolf is not going to eat her. The main difference between the song and Brother's Grimm story is that the song portrays Little Red Riding Hood as an older girl, and the wolf wants to get her into bed, whereas the wolf just wants to eat her in the Brother's Grimm story.

  5. This song and the poem "Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf" have some similarities and differences. These stories are similar through the wolf following Red alone through the woods, planning to dine on her and stating the wolfs intensions. Although, the poem does not list any other character like the dog, who falls in love with Red. Also, there is no bad actions of the wolf, due to the dog defeating the wolf in the middle of the song. The song sings, "What big heart you have...The better to love you with." This lyric shows a transition from the original story to a story to the story of the dog and Red.
I could not find many similarities between these two stories. It seems as though the poem is trying to show Red's sly smarts, where as the song represents a hero rescuing Red without her even knowing.

  6. The beginning of the song describes the perspective of the wolf as he discovers LRRH, and convinces her to lead him to her grandmother's house, just as every version of the story starts. He uses phrases like "what big eyes you have", similar to the line from the Roald Dahl's version, "what big eyes you have, Grandma". The video uses a dog in place of the wolf, and Betty Boop in place of LRRH. The wolf is tricked by LRRH in both stories, both including a firearm.

  7. The lyrics were similar to the story, with some changes. Instead of a wolf, it is a sheep in the wolf skin. The sheep killed the wold and put on the skin to protect Little Red Cap. The pictures used, along with some of the lyrics, made it seem very sexual, like some of the original stories were thought to be. "Little Red Riding Hood, you are everything a wolf like me could want," can be seen has everything he would want to eat, or everything he is looking for in a woman. I think the song relates to the Brothers Grimm version of Little Red Cap.

  8. The song Little Red Riding Hood had many similarities to many of the different stories. Each story always follows the main plot with LRRH alone in the woods, headed to her grandmother's house, when a wolf or predator targets her, but there are also smaller more detailed similarities, for example: in the song or video the sheep attacked the wolf, skinned him and wore it and in Roald Dahl"s adaptation of the story, "Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf" the wolf was skinned too and his skin was worn too, the only difference being that little red riding hood herself shot and skinned him and wore him as her "lovely furry WOLFSKIN COAT." There are many adaptations of the story, based on how each author interprets or imagines what would happen.

  9. I think the video is similar to Charles Perrault's version of the story. Both stories have Little Red Riding Hood walking through the woods to grandmothers house and meeting up with the wolf along the way. When the wolf finds out where the grandmother lives he goes on his way to get there first. When Little Red Riding Hood gets to the house the wolf is laying in grandmothers bed with her clothes on. The wolf seductively asks Little Red to take off her clothes and get in bed with her. The difference between the video and the story is that Little Red survives in the video but get eaten in the story.

  10. The song and lyrics reminded me of Brothers Grimm's story of Little Red Cap. I also noticed a lot of sexual innuendos involving Little Red Riding Hood--especially in her clothing. However, I was very confused as to what happened? So the wolf was stalking Little Red Riding Hood and the Sheep attacked the wolf because he loved LRRH? The Sheep (or Dog) did attack the wolf, though, so I see that as a reference towards Brothers Grimm's story at the end with the Huntsman. Also, in Brothers Grimm's story, LRRH does go to pick flowers; "meanwhile, Little Red Cap had been running around looking for flowers" (15). In the video, LRRH stops and picks flowers.

  11. The song, "Little Red Riding Hood," speaks of the Big Bad Wolf trying to lure a little girl in. The video shows Betty, a wolf, and a sheep. The sheep has been trying to protect her from the wolf throughout the video. The wolf obviously stalks the girl down the road. LRRH made the mistake "by speaking to strangers or by disobeying her mother and straying from the path," concluding to "her own downfall (p.6)" because she has allowed herself to trust the bad wolf. The wolf has a desire for LRRH and because he was acting trustworthy. The moral of the story is that sometimes you can not trust the nicest people, because they usually end up being the most heartless.

  13. The lyrics of the video I feel are most similar to the Roald Dahl and the story of the grandmother versions of the story because other than the ending, the video follows most of the stories quite well. It really is not very similar to any of the stories but if you mixed the two together there are many similarities. The wolf at the end of the grandmother story gets Little Red Riding hood undressed just like how the dog in the video just wants her to love him.

  14. The song lyrics and the story compare because during the story in the end the lyrics are something like "you are everything a wolf like me could want" and in the beginning of the Brother Grimm the story says "if you set your eyes on her you could not but love her"(p 13).In this version of the story it also tell about "Little Red Cap" picking flower and in the video Betty boop is also looking at the flowers. She also goes to the bed with "grandmother" but in the story she and the Grandmother are gobbled up and then the wolf is killed and cut up and they get out of the wolfs stomach. The man skinned of the wolf becomes like a reward for the man who killed the wolf he says "I've found you at last, you old sinner"(p 15).
