John Waterhouse's depiction of Pandora (1903). |
For homework, you read about "Prometheus and Pandora" (14-20) and learned how Man and Woman were created in Greco-Roman mythology. According to the author, Pandora was given two containers: one, a jar, in which "plagues for hapless man" were kept, and the second, a box, in which marriage presents were kept (16).
Bellringer Questions:
1) What is
hope?
2) Why do you think
hope was the only thing that remained in both of Pandora's boxes?
